Updating LGR table for Saudi Arabia’s Arabic TLD (.السعودية)

Continuing to support the Arabic language on the Internet and keeping up the leadership of Saudi Arabia in Arabic domain names, the Saudi Network Information Center (SaudiNIC) has published an international document that exhibits letters, symbols and their variants along with some rules related to using Arabic domain names under the Saudi domains (.السعودية). This document is in compliance with the new international standards that has been adopted by IANA (Representing Label Generation Rulesets using XML). The document contains the following:

  • Letters, numbers and symbols that can be used in registering a Saudi domain name.
  • Variants to these letters and numbers across the whole Arabic script.
  • Rules and conditions governing the implementation of variant actions.
